Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephoneStop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

As one of the first customers (December 2009)of our new business venture: lusanbidets.com.au, we were saddened to read today in an old (disused) email account of Paul's passing. A man who has evidently left a lasting legacy of human goodwill & kindness to all who knew him.

Paul, you gave all your best to your friends, even for the ones like me so far away in France. I will keep with me our funny arguments about french cuisine you liked so much. Thank you to have given me the opportunity to host Tim in Paris. The

I believe anyone who knew the real Paul will miss him greatly and will know how sweet and loving he was. I suppose we are lucky at least we had for the short time we did. I only had him in my life for 20 short years. Love ya

I was priviledged to know Paul for only a short while, he welcomed me to my new neighbourhood in Castlemaine in 2010, and was very generous with his hospitality. A conversation with Paul was a real pleasure - always fizzing and bubbling with wit, wisdom and life stories. Our little community is the poorer without him. R.I.P.

Paul, your idiosyncrasies and eccentricities both merged and divided a wide array of friends and acquaintances but your underlying vivacity, generosity and enthusiasm always stood out. The innumerable dinners at Barnet Street and corresponding intellectual debate will be the enduring memory of your household, but I am eternally in debt to you and Tim for your support and friendship in time of need. My family will be the poorer for your passing. Be in peace my friend. Simon
